Hello, friends! Thank you for visiting the Holmen Public Preschool page. The Public Preschool consists of Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) and Four-Year-Old Kindergarten (4K). Currently, we have two locations for ECSE and 4K: Viking Elementary and Prairie View Elementary. The Public Preschool Office is located in room 214 on the second floor of Viking Elementary.
The mission of the Holmen Public Preschool is to collaborate with parents and the community to provide a high quality education and to build a foundation of success for all children. We strive to promote life-long learning; good citizenship; independence; and students' unique talents and abilities. This is accomplished by balancing social emotional growth and academic skills within a creative and nurturing environment.
The 2016-17 school year is the tenth year that 4K has been in place within the School District of Holmen. We utilize the Creative Curriculum, which includes various interest areas set up intentionally by the teachers for children to "Play, Learn, and Grow Together."
We are also honored to have been selected as a program-wide WI Pyramid Model site. The WI Pyramid Model is a framework similar to PBIS, but it applies specifically to early learners and developmentally appropriate practices. The Holmen Public Preschool Program follows District guidelines of PBIS: Be safe, respectful, and responsible. At the preschool level, we recognize students for their positive behaviors through our PBIS/Pyramid Model initiative called , "Courteous Critters."
