Welcome to my classroom! I am in room 202 at Viking Elementary School.
I am so pleased to be teaching in the Holmen Public Preschool Program. I delight in the enthusiasm this age group brings with them each and every day! Their eagerness to learn keeps me motivated to provide rich learning experiences to keep that enthusiasm alive.
You will also meet, Mrs. Laura Danielson, the assistant in our classroom. We have worked together for 6 years and we appreciate all that she brings to our classroom!
In my classroom, my main goal is to make learning fun! I feel I have succeeded if I have set my students up to be lifelong learners with a positive first educational experience. With the demands and expectations placed on our students at an even earlier age, I strive to find a balance that will prepare my students for kindergarten, socially, emotionally and academically.
We are involved in a variety of activities that include both large and small group times that are designed to meet the needs of each child. In my classroom you will find numerous learning centers set up throughout the classroom, including dramatic play, art, cars and blocks, sensory, library and storytelling, writing, toys and games, science and math. The materials are changing regularly to promote hands-on exploration and an enthusiasm for learning. We are busy!
You are welcome to join us at any time your schedule permits! If you need a volunteer registration form they can be found on the district website. I strive to involve families in our learning by providing opportunities for your child to bring theme related activities home on a regular basis. This may include class books created by the entire class, a sharing bag, a birthday bag and a monthly theme related story and activity. The children love sharing these items with you!
