2010-2011 Open Enrollment

Wisconsin's inter-district public school open enrollment program allows parents to apply for their children to attend school districts other than the one in which they live.

Students in 5-year old kindergarten to grade 12 may apply to participate in open enrollment. Children entering prekindergarten, 4-year old kindergarten and early childhood education may participate only if the child's resident school district offers the same type of program and only if the child is eligible for the program in the resident school district.

The dates for this year's open enrollment are: February 1-19, 2010. Late applications will not be accepted for any reason. Parents must apply to the nonresident district. A nonresident district is defined as the district you don't live in, but where you want your child to attend.

Parents may apply in one of two ways:

• On-line (recommended) at https://www2.dpi.state.wi.us/OpenEnrollApp
• Although on-line application is recommended, paper applications may be obtained from the Department of Public Instruction or any school district after January 4, 2010, and must be delivered (hand-delivery is recommended) to the nonresident school district during the application period.

If you have any questions regarding open enrollment, please contact Monika Buggy, Open Enrollment Coordinator for the School District of Holmen, Pupil Services Department at 526-1309.
