Holmen High School offers one of the most diverse co-curricular slates in the region — and these fees help keep it that way. Applies to Holmen High School only. Middle School activities are not subject to these fees.
Holmen High School offers one of the most diverse activity programs in the region — and our community uses it. Nearly two-thirds of our students are involved in at least one co-curricular activity. That’s not a coincidence. It’s the result of deliberate investment in programs that give students a place to belong, a way to serve, and a path to succeed.

Sustaining that breadth requires real resources. Staffing, equipment, transportation, and facilities all carry real costs that continue to grow. To keep our programs strong and accessible, the Holmen School Board approved an activities fee structure — with fees kept as low as possible. Fees do not replace the need to fundraise, but they help make it possible to keep offering what we do.
Fees are not directed to any single sport or program. They contribute to a shared pool that funds what everyone depends on — including athletic training services and supplies and weight training services. If you participate, you benefit from these resources.

Fee Structure by Category
Fee categories are based on organizational structure, operating costs, and alignment with district-supported programming.
WIAA Tier 1 Sport
$100
WIAA-sanctioned sports with standard cost structures. This covers the majority of Holmen’s athletic programs.
Examples Include
Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Baseball, Softball, Soccer, Swimming & Diving, Wrestling, Track & Field, Tennis, Golf, Cross Country, Gymnastics, and all other WIAA-sanctioned sports excluding Hockey and Lacrosse.
WIAA Tier 2 Sport
$500
WIAA-sanctioned sports with unique cost structures due to cooperative agreements, specialized equipment, or elevated operating costs.
Examples Include
Hockey (Boys & Girls) and Lacrosse (Boys).
Service Clubs & Activities
No Fee
Student-led organizations focused primarily on service to the school, community, or society. Fundraising supports causes or creates opportunities for others.
Examples Include
National Honor Society, Student Council, Interact Club.
Competitive Clubs & Activities
$35
School-sponsored activities involving competition, performance, or measurable outcomes. These groups often represent the school but are not governed by the WIAA.
Examples Include
Robotics, DECA (competitors only), Quiz Bowl, Forensics.
Variable / Dynamic Fee Activities
Set by Advisor
Programs that set their own participation fees based on cost of delivery, specialized instruction, travel, or equipment needs.
Examples Include
Snowboard & Ski Club, Show Choir. Contact the advisor directly for current fee information.
Minimal District Support
No Fee
Programs with little to no district funding, typically supported through participant contributions and fundraising. Some individual costs may still apply outside of district billing.
Examples Include
Trapshooting.
Fee Policy & Waivers
Important information every family should know before registering.
No fee to try out. Participation fees are applied only after a student has officially joined and been confirmed on the season roster. There is no cost to register or to participate in tryouts and initial practices.
This ensures that students who are exploring an activity or testing the waters are only charged if they choose to continue for the season. We never want the possibility of a fee to prevent a student from trying something new.
How to Pay
Activity fees are collected through Bound. When your student is confirmed on a roster, you will receive instructions to complete payment through your Bound account. Visit gobound.com/wi/schools/holmen to access your account.

Families have the full season to pay. Students are not excluded from participation while a balance is outstanding.
Fee Waivers & Reductions
We are committed to ensuring every student has access to the activities that matter to them. No student should miss out due to financial hardship. Several reductions apply automatically:
Automatic Reductions
● Free Lunch Status — Zero fees
● Reduced Lunch Status — 60% reduction in all fees
● Family Maximum — $900 per family per school year, regardless of how many students participate
