403(b) Wage Deferral

The District offers employees the option to defer wages to a plan qualified under IRC §403(b). Deferring wages may offer income-tax advantages; however, the District does not provide financial advice. Please consult your personal financial planner for guidance.

Overview

Employee contributions through payroll deferral are administered by Business Services and governed by Board Policy 6520 – Payroll Deductions.

TSA vendors must be pre-certified by the District to receive contributions under the District’s 403(b) Plan. Certification requires compliance with IRC §403(b), applicable regulations, the District’s plan document, and execution of a District agreement. Non-certified vendors cannot receive contributions.

  1. Review the Approved Vendor List and choose a vendor.
  2. Complete a Salary Deferral Agreement to start, change, or terminate your deferral.
  3. Submit the signed agreement to the District Business Office.
