State and federal laws strictly define the difference between employees and independent contractors. These definitions determine the rights and responsibilities of both the District and the service provider.
What’s required before services begin
- Independent Contractor Form — determines contractor vs. employee status for the engagement.
- Form W-9 — Request for Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification (for IRS reporting).
Important: Completed forms must be on file with Business Services before any commitment is made for services.
