Holmen Nutrition Services is dedicated to helping students build healthy eating habits from a young age. We follow USDA Offer Versus Serve (OVS) guidelines, giving students multiple healthy choices while ensuring required components are selected.
How Offer Versus Serve works
Students choose from healthy options and still meet required components.
Guidelines cover grains, fruits/vegetables, and milk requirements.
At lunch, all students have a choice of three main entrées.
What’s on the line?
Middle & High School Deli Bar: quality meats, cheeses, vegetables, and a variety of whole-grain breads/wraps.
Salad Bars at all schools: plenty of fresh, often locally grown vegetables—available with every entrée, including the Deli Bar.
Build a balanced meal: students are encouraged to take all five components offered (one entrée, one bread/grain, up to two fruits, up to two vegetables, and one milk).
It’s proven that students who eat nutritious meals have higher academic success and better overall health. We’re proud to provide high-quality meals at a reasonable price for families.
Choosing school lunch is a healthy choice—and a great value. We’ll even do the dishes.
