Student Health Guidelines

Working together to maintain a healthy, safe and supportive learning environment for every student and staff member.

School District of Holmen Families,

Hello, and welcome back to a new school year! As we begin another year of learning and growth, the well-being and safety of our students and staff remain our top priorities. To help maintain a healthy and productive learning environment, we kindly ask families to follow the health guidelines below.

  1. Stay Home When Sick

Please keep your child home if they are experiencing vomiting, diarrhea or a fever over 100 degrees. Students may return to school after they have been symptom-free for at least 24 hours without the use of medication.

  2. Reportable Illnesses

If your child is diagnosed with a reportable illness identified on the Wisconsin Department of Health Services Childhood Communicable Disease Chart, please contact your school nurse. When required, the county health department will also communicate with the family and the school.

  3. Medical Provider Visits

If your child visits a medical provider for an illness, injury or other health-related reason, please request a school excuse or restriction letter documenting the absence and any necessary accommodations.

Thank You for Your Partnership

We appreciate your cooperation and your commitment to helping keep our schools healthy and safe. Following these guidelines helps protect students, staff members and the entire Holmen community.

Questions?

For questions or additional clarification regarding these health guidelines, please contact the nurse at your child’s school.
