Teacher - Instrumental Music (Band) Email Phone: 608.526.3391 x5902 Mary Andersen received her Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music Education degrees from the University of Northern Iowa. She directed bands in various locations in Iowa before moving to Wisconsin, working with students at all levels from fifth through twelfth grade. She has been director of Holmen 7th and 8th grade bands since 2019. Ms. Andersen has performed as a clarinet soloist and ensemble player with both bands and orchestras. She has also performed as a keyboard accompanist with youth and adult choirs, musical productions, churches, and for vocal and instrumental soloists. She is also an instructor at UW-LaCrosse, teaching applied clarinet and woodwind techniques. Her hobbies include scrapbooking, reading, volunteering, a variety of fitness activities, and (of course) all things music. She is a proud mother of two adult sons, Wyatt, a bioscience researcher on the east coast, and Dakota, a MM candidate in vocal jazz performance at the University of North Texas.
