Policy development is one of the School Board's most important functions. These policies have been adopted by the Board of Education to fulfill its responsibility to provide leadership, guidance, and direction to the School District of Holmen. Policies go through two approval readings by the Board. Administrative rules are also developed through Board leadership but are not required by state statute or DPI rules. The local district has determined that consistent guidance is in the best interest of stakeholders. These administrative rules require only one Board reading for approval.
Both, policies and administrative rules, are reviewed by a policy committee on a regular basis or more frequently if needed, upon request . A source of reference for laws and statutes can be found on DPI's website: http://www.dpi.state.wi.us/pb/tm-laws.html
