Teacher - Grade 4 Email Phone: 608.526.1600 Teaching has always been a lifelong dream of mine, and this year marks my nineteenth year in the Holmen School District.
My philosophy of education centers on creating a safe and welcoming environment through a Responsive Classroom approach. I want every child to feel comfortable, valued, and inspired to learn. I genuinely love coming to school each day, and I strive to instill that same love of lifelong learning in each of my students. I believe the social curriculum is just as important as the academic, which is why I incorporate daily morning meetings and social-emotional, community-building activities into our routine.
I graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire in 2006 with degrees in Elementary and Special Education. I began my teaching career in 2007 as a second-grade teacher at Evergreen Elementary. In 2010, I earned my Master’s degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse. I now spend my days teaching fourth grade, which I love.
When I'm not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. My husband teaches science at Holmen High School, and together we have two daughters and two sons. I love camping, hiking, reading, crafting, shopping, decorating, traveling, and cooking/baking!
