Greetings Parents, Students, and Families!

Welcome to FIRST GRADE!  I hope you have had an enjoyable summer vacation and got outside to experience some of the nice days we have had.  I am so excited to have you join us in OUR classroom this year and I know it will be a great year for all of us.  Let me tell you a little about myself.

My Name is Tim Nielsen.  I have been an educator since 2007.  First Grade is my absolute favorite grade.  I came to the La Crosse area from a small town near Menomonie where I grew up on our family farm outside of Knapp.  I attended Viterbo University in La Crosse and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood Education.  

I have worked at Prairie View as a First Grade teacher since we opened in 2009.  In 2013 I left the district to assist and provide professional development training to educators around the state as well as at the national level to improve and strengthen the classroom learning experience for all learners.  In 2016 I returned to Prairie View to be back with the First Grade team and work together with you and your child to provide wonderful discoveries that WE will make together each and every day.  Never be afraid to try something new as that is how we learn, and discover new talents and passions.
