Flex (Cafeteria) Plan Benefits are available to eligible employees of the School District of Holmen. These benefits allow employees to take advantage of IRS Code, Section 125, by setting aside otherwise taxable earnings to pay for eligible medical and/or dependent care expenses. The plan is comprised of 4 separate accounts:
Health and/or Dental Insurance Premium Deductions
Health and/or Dental Insurance is available to employees per eligibility requirements found in the Employee Handbook.
The employee costs for health and/or dental premiums are automatically pre-tax deductions. You must notify the Business Office in writing each plan year if you do not want your insurance deductions taken pre-tax. If you are enrolled in family health and/or dental insurance under the domestic partner provision, only the single deductions are considered pre-tax deductions. The difference in costs between the single and family deductions will be taken after taxes.
Health Care Flexible Spending Account
Employees scheduled to work 750 or more hours per year are eligible to participate.
Employees elect an annual amount of money to be deducted per check and set aside for the payment of eligible medical, dental and/or vision expenses (see, Eligible Expenses - FSA) defined in IRS Code, Section 125. The deduction is made before taxes are calculated and reduces your taxable income. Domestic Partners are not eligible to participate.
