STUDENT FOCUS HOURS
In the 2025-26 educator calendar, there are four (4) hours of time within the contracted work schedule that are defined as “Student Focus Hours”; this half day (4 hours) is part of the 190 day contract. These four hours recognize activities completed between September 2, 2025 and June 5, 2026. The list below provides activities that are approved for these hours.
- Attendance at Graduation/8th Grade Farewell
- Family Outreach Events/School Sponsored Student Events (Dances, School Block Party, Bingo Night, Chuck E. Cheese Night, PTO fundraising events, Green & Gold, etc.)
- Additional Parent Teacher Conferences held outside the regularly scheduled conference times.
- Attendance at PTO meetings
- Meeting with new student/families outside the school day
- Elementary classroom teacher attendance at evening Music Programs
- After school detention supervision
- Presenting at Board Meeting
- Participation on evening interview committee
- Other events as approved by Building Principal and Human Resources. Submit request and details of event in an email to Building Principal & Human Resources prior to the event for approval.
Note: These activities should be outside the educators regular teaching hours and expectations. Example: IEP, EST, etc. meetings are part of a regular & special education teacher’s expectations and would not count towards these hours.
Upon completion of hours, please track your time using this form 2025-26 Student Focus Hours Reporting. This form can be submitted multiple times, or you can save each activity/time and submit all at one time.
