During this unprecedented start to the 2020-2021 school year, there have been some changes to our Back to School August Professional Inservice Days for Teachers.
Approximately 7-8 hours of the three days are used for district welcome back and professional development. This year, Dr. Mueller will be sending a video message/communication to all staff which will be about an hour. That leaves about 6 -7 hours for district professional development.
Since the start of the school year will be remote learning, staff could use those hours any time beginning August 14th. (The August 14th date was given to us by Melissa Kaatz as the Professional Back to School hours are contract hours and tied to payroll.) This would provide you with more time and opportunities to receive training, work within the learning management systems, and collaborate with others before the first week of school.
Building Administrators will be communicating more information to Teachers regarding these hours.
Here is a LINK that will provide more optional Professional Staff Development for those who need to finish their required 6 hours or those who wish to complete additional training. Some of these trainings are a repeat of what was offered for In-District Flexible Staff Development.
